Dive into controversy

Posted on April 24, 2003 | No Comments

On July 11, 1804, Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton walked to a field near the Hudson River and shot each other. They solved their differences by dueling. Did Burr call Hamilton an asshole? No, he shot him.

Now I ask, why can't we solve our problems like this nowadays? We haven't had a good duel in almost 200 years. I say it's about damn time we start.

So I propose that the first duel occur between Mark Pilgrim and Dave Winer. Real guns might make things messy, so the duellers could use nerf guns, the geek weapon of choice.

If Winer comes out unscathed, then a trunk exists. Otherwise it's just an illusion.
